What Are the Speed Advantages of Office Copiers for High-Volume Printing?
Faster office copiers reduce queues and shorten large jobs, but high-volume productivity also depends on first-page time, feeder and finishing throughput, paper capacity, warm-up, job processing and uptime. Rated pages per minute alone can overstate the advantage.
Measure high-volume speed across the complete job
Time representative jobs from submission to finished output, including duplex pages, mixed paper, stapling and replenishment. For scanning, compare images per minute and feeder intervention separately from print speed. Identify busiest-hour demand rather than dividing monthly pages by workdays.
Choose practical headroom within the recommended operating range, not a machine sized to run constantly at its maximum duty cycle. Service intervals and recovery during an outage also affect throughput. Use the copier speed guide before requesting high-volume copier proposals.
Price the equipment around one clear workload.
Give providers the same volume, paper, scanning, finishing and service brief.
